Racial Slur Alleged In Habs-Panthers Game

Montreal Canadiens defenceman PK Subban was subjected to a racial slur at the end of the first period of Saturday's game in Florida against the Panthers, according to a report.

Florida forward Krys Barch was given a game misconduct after time expired at the end of the first following a scrum between Panthers and Canadiens players.

Linesman Darren Gibbs reported hearing a racial slur used by Barch, according to a tweet from Panthers beat reporter George Richards of the Miami Herald.

Subban, born in Toronto to parents originally from Jamaica, incurred four penalty minutes during the scrum.
